Amy Lou Adams Amy Lou Adams (born on the 20th of August, 1974 in Aviano, Italy). American actress. She is known for her role as naive delightful characters. Adams was among seven siblings that grew up as a child in Colorado's Castle Rock. She was born while her father worked for the U.S. Military in Italy. In the mid-1990s, she began dancing and performing professionally at Boulder's Dinner Theatre in Colorado and Country Dinner Playhouse. In the following year, in Minnesota, at a local theatre, she was a chosen to be a part of a mock film documentary on beauty pageants titled Drop Dead Gorgeous. Following her debut on screen as a cute but serious contestant, she relocated into Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She was the wife of the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 to September 1962 and her mother to Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh's film career began after signing a MGM contract in the late 1940s. The actress was discovered by actress and model Norma shearer. She starred as Norma in a few popular movies through time, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho in 1960, and Living It Up, a Martin and Lewis film released in 1954.
